"Cabinets of curiosity": the first museums in the world were actually rooms filled with collections of various curious objects which rich people collected on their travels. Modern terminology would categorize the objects included as belonging to natural history, geology, ethnography, archaeology, religious or historical relics, works of art and antiquities. The first showcases began to being placed in reception areas or libraries. The classic cabinet of curiosities emerged in the 16th and 17th century, especially, in Eyrope.
