Walking Tours | March 2025 | Treasure Hunt in the City!

Children and parents walk through the narrow streets of Heraklion, exploring, playing, and discovering its history and culture with the Exploration Children's Museum! This month, we follow the King of the Gods on a thrilling treasure hunt and, together with nymphs and fairies, uncover the city's underground water world!

"The Hunt for the 12 Gods" | Saturday, March 15 | 4:00 - 6:00 PM

The king of the gods is urgently traveling to the island of Crete! But why? Because all the gods have vanished from the peak of Mount Olympus! A strong southern wind swept through Olympus, leaving all the thrones empty. Join us on a treasure hunt through the city of Heraklion! With Zeus as our guide, we solve puzzles, explore monuments, and search for the 12 Olympian gods. Twelve gods are hidden in twelve locations around the city—are you ready to find them?

The walking tour "The Hunt for the 12 Gods" is designed for families with children aged 4 and up. The meeting point is St. George’s Gate (Ikarou Avenue).

"Spring Water" | Saturday, March 29 | 4:00 - 6:00 PM

Nymphs, tritons, flowers, dolphins, mythical figures, and seahorses - a hidden marine kingdom lies within the alleys of Heraklion! Are you ready to uncover the water stories of Handakas? Since the 17th century, wells, fountains, and reservoirs have been collecting rainwater. From impressive and famous fountains to small and hidden ones, we will trace the journey of water from Mount Juktas to the heart of Heraklion. What secrets do they hold? What stories will they tell us? Get ready for an exciting underground exploration in Heraklion and join us for a sip of fresh spring water!

The walking tour "Spring Water" is designed for families with children aged 6 and up. The meeting point is St. George’s Gate (Ikarou Avenue).
